Kenny Zablotsky (also known as Channan Tzvi), is the visionary artist behind the Judaica design studio Hamsas of Munkatch, a creative venture conceived in 2020 amid the challenging landscape of the Corona Pandemic.
Raised in suburban New England, Kenny's artistic journey led him to the vibrant canvas of New York City, where he pursued his education and embarked on a career that would ultimately merge his passion for hospitality and the built environment.
A 2008 graduate of the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University; Kenny prioritized architecture and psychology coursework. His academic pursuits continued with the attainment of a Masters degree in Construction Administration from Columbia University in 2013, setting the stage for a nuanced understanding of structure and design.
With a professional trajectory spanning over 15 years in corporate facilities and luxury retail operations, Kenny made a transformative decision in 2023 to channel his energies entirely into the realm of art.
A true multi-media artist, Channan Tzvi employs a diverse array of materials in his creations, with a conscientious emphasis on upcycled, reclaimed, and natural elements whenever possible. His art is a celebration of heritage and innovation, a testament to the enduring beauty that emerges when tradition and contemporary expression converge in harmonious balance.
Channan Tzvi's artistic narrative unfolds as a vibrant tapestry woven from a deep-rooted desire for a joyous connection to Jewish cultures and traditions. His creations transcend the conventional boundaries of ritual objects, aiming to seamlessly integrate into the home environment. By infusing everyday spaces with decorative elements of Jewish connectivity, he aspires to inspire moments of joy throughout the week; whenever someone may utilize or catch a glimpse of the items.
2023 marked the launch of JEWISHJOY.co, an online Judaica retail platform, where Kenny passionately shares his meticulously crafted art along with thoughtfully curated selections of Judaica with a wider audience. Kenny works to source premium quality Judaica art & objects from other artisans and small businesses to support their growth and share the platform with them. An extension of the #JEWISHJOY!
